Zenzinho is a program that seeks to develop interpersonal relationships, self-understanding and respect for nature in grade school students. The children spend two days in the monastery learning about the environment, discipline, solidarity and respect.
During their stay at the monastery, the children become aware of a sense of life in a community and for the need to use common spaces in a harmonious manner. They also develop an ecological awareness, based upon the importance of the environment to the human life. And of course, as one would expect in a Zen monastery, the children practice meditation and learn about the individual well being that derives from this practice.
