Groups of up to 50 policemen participate in two days of strict oriental training activities, practiced for over 2,600 years, even by Japanese samurais warriors. The program encourages the development of an enhanced attention span rather than action, emphasizes respectful coexistence and hones the sensitivity that is necessary for police work. The activities are divided into three modules:
The policemen experiment life as a monk, participating in all the routines of the temple in order to understand how it is possible to be disciplined without stress. They participate in the activities of meditation, meals, the ritual of the bath and organization of personal space.
With lectures about the environment and trail walking around the Morro da Vargem region, the participants undergo a process of integrating their beings with the vital energy that surrounds them.
Self-knowledge, integration and relaxation techniques are teached to the policemen, being valuable lessons for the difficult task of police work.
